St Joseph the Worker

Catholic Primary School

Years 4 - 6

This afternoon, our Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils took part in their very first My Future Zoom session an exciting project designed to raise aspirations and inspire children about the wide range of careers available to them.

Today’s theme was “Can we fix it?”, and the children enjoyed a virtual visit from professionals working in a variety of fields linked to solving problems and fixing things. Our visitors explained what they do in their jobs, the skills they use, and what they enjoy most about their roles.

The session encouraged pupils to think about:

  • which jobs interested them the most
  • what skills different careers require
  • how the things they already enjoy doing could lead to future opportunities
  •

As part of My Future, the children will also continue developing valuable skills such as planning, setting goals, and exploring challenges with a positive mindset all important foundations for their futures.

Please speak to your children about what they learned today at home and take a moment to look at the flyer attached.

It was a fantastic start to the programme and we look forward to seeing how the children build on today’s inspiration in the weeks ahead!
