Meet Muffin, our school dog.

Muffin is our much loved Cavapoochon who has become an integral part of the SJW community.

Birthday: 12th January

Colour: Apricot

Weight: About 5kg

Muffin is a certified Dog Mentor who was assessed, trained and certified by Jenny from The Dog Mentor. School dogs have been proven to enhance educational, social, emotional, and therapeutic outcomes for children. Her presence has had a positive impact on our students, providing comfort, promoting well-being, and enhancing the school environment.

The Dog Mentor Programme has built on the benefits of the human-animal bond by providing children positive experiences with dogs. Since 2012, implementation of The Dog Mentor Programme in schools across the UK has proven to have significant impact on many children’s lives. These positive impacts follow the premise that improving communication within schools will improve behaviour.

Muffin is usually in school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We are excited to be welcoming Twix and Biscoff to our St Joseph the Worker family. They are extremely sociable and loving guinea pigs. They will be based in Class One and during holidays, will be taken home by a member of staff.
