Our school crossing patrol lady, Pauline retired today after 39 years! We invited her into assembly to say a huge thank you for all the years of smiles and service. During assembly, Mrs Sraan and some of the children taught us about the festivals of Diwali and Bandi Chorr Diwas.
In the afternoon, we were privileged to receive a visit from Alex Burghart, MP, who answered some very insightful and thought-provoking questions from Years 5 and 6. They learnt about how laws are made, how to become an MP, and so much more. Mr Burghart also invited them to visit him at the Houses of Parliament.
The day ended with all of the KS2 children being treated to French lessons led by some Year 11 students from Brentwood Ursuline. Ils étaient très intéressants et les enfants les ont beaucoup aimés!
